Harvest Festival Assembly

We are having a Harvest Festival Assembly on Wednesday at 2:30pm. Rev Sally will lead the service, however, it will be held in the school hall on this occasion. We warmly invite parents to attend. Please bring a harvest gift donation if possible – a tin of food etc.

We look forward to seeing you there!

F.O.N.E.S AGM

Friends of North Elmham School (F.O.N.E.S)

Registered Charity No: 1113450

Dear Parents and Carers

10th September 2018

The F.O.N.E.S Committee would like to invite any parents who wish to join the PTA to attend the AGM meeting which is being held on Tuesday 11th September at 7.30pm at North Elmham Tea Post. Coffee, tea and cakes will be provided by the committee.

This meeting will consist of the AGM followed by the normal PTA meeting. You are invited to attend both. This meeting will provide an opportunity for any new parents to join and any existing members to exit the committee if they so wish. Fones very much welcomes new members who may have new and refreshing fundraising ideas. It can be a daunting experience for some, but rest assured, we are really a very friendly bunch!!

If you attend the meeting and would like to join the committee you will need to obtain a full DBS check which can be sorted out through our School office in due course.

Furthermore, the three main roles of the committee being the Chair, Treasurer and the Secretary will also be nominated and voted for by the committee at this meeting.

At present our PTA consists of 10 members who meet 2 or 3 times every half term in the evenings. As many of you will be aware, the events that FONES organise involve careful planning, practical help from volunteers, and many pairs of hands to make these events achievable and fun for EVERYONE! If you feel you may be able to contribute some of your time and support to FONES, enabling us to continue as a thriving committee for many years to come, then please do come along.

The PTA brings together parents, teachers and others from the school community who are interested in supporting the school, providing an opportunity for everyone to work together, with a common purpose – to organise fundraising and social events so we can give support back to the school. Events organised previously include school discos, sponsored walks, movie dates, book and Christmas fayres and the annual summer fete to name but a few.

The committee also runs a volunteer list. This is for parents who cannot commit to becoming a full-time member but would be willing to still help the committee when needed ie: to help supervise school discos, help sell raffle tickets for events, bake cakes for cake selling, help with refreshments at performance and I could go on… Please do have a think and come along. Joining has been one of the best things I’ve done!

We look forward to meeting some new faces at the next meeting.

Remember…YOUR SCHOOL NEEDS YOU!

Kind regards

Sharon Phillips (Secretary for and on behalf of FONES)

Welcome back!

We look forward to seeing everyone this week and we hope you have all had a wonderful summer.

May we remind you that, as from this term, the red jumper is not part of our school uniform anymore so we ask that children come in with the blue jumper. Also, the school gates now open at 8:45am.

Miss Button’s Leaving Assembly

After 11 years at North Elmham Primary we had to say a sad goodbye to a much-beloved teacher, Miss Button. The children and staff mashed up a few songs and wove them into a speech to thank her for her huge contributions to the school. This was very fitting as she was well-known for bursting into song all the time and having a positive attitude day in day out.

FONEs Festival Fundraising!

The total raised from the FONEs Family Festival was an incredible £1,537!

A huge thank you to all of the parents, staff and of course our amazing FONEs for supporting the event.

FONEs Bingo

Thank you to all those who supported the Bingo. A brilliant time was had by all & we raised more money for the school.
